The tatamis of the South Arena of Montpellier in France are ready. From Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th the European Judo Championships will take place, a highly anticipated competition because it will award important points for Olympic qualification. At the starting line, with their eyes focused on the five-circle objective to conquer, there will also be several athletes from Campania.
Among the women, the phenomenal Assunta Susy Scutto stands out. The Neapolitan wren is fresh from the victory in Abu Dhabi and also wants a medal at the European Championships in the 48 kg category.
In the men’s field the patrol is very large. In the -73 kg category there will be Giovanni Esposito, while his older brother Antonio will compete in the -81 kg. For both, an opportunity not to be missed to cradle the Olympic dream. In the -90 kg category, Christian Parlati is eagerly awaited, as he took part in the Olympics in Tokyo and wants to be in Paris too.
However, Martina Esposito and Gennaro Pirelli will not fly to Montpellier, both stopped by injuries.
