In the last veterans championship held in Valencia, Doryoku judoka Israel Del Olmo won the gold medal. Israel has resumed the competition 18 years later and has done so in the best possible way, rising to the top of the podium.
Valencia hosted the last Spanish Veterans Cup before the Spanish championship. Israel competed in the M3 category of less than 73 kilos. League of 5 participants that ended with 3 victories and only 1 defeat. Finally, with a tie on points, Israel won the medal as the competitor who had achieved victory in their fights in the shortest time. With this result, Israel will face with even more enthusiasm the final phase of the Spanish Veterans Championship that will be held in Pamplona on December 3.
Junior, Senior and veterans
Intense weeks for these categories in particular and for Doryoku in general. This weekend the charro club travels to compete in the Spanish Junior Super Cup with the following athletes: Mario de Pedro, Héctor Rodríguez, Adriana Cabezudo.
In addition, Luis Márquez from Extremadura and Marcos Vítores from Rioja will travel. Both judokas are based in Salamanca and train at the Doryoku facilities.
The following weekend, in Pamplona, Charlie Antón, Elena Casado and again Marcos Vítores will compete. All of them will fight in the absolute Spanish Championship, the day before the National Veterans Championship. The continental referee from Salamanca, Javier S. Pablos, has been summoned to referee the final phase of both categories.
