Holder of a Master’s degree in international law, I realized at the end of my university career that it was important to evolve in a field that you appreciate. Overnight, I decided to put an end to my parents’ dream, who saw in me a future lawyer, to make a living from my passion: sport. Since then, I have covered transfer windows and sports news, trying to keep readers informed as best as possible.
Retired from the field since 2016, Lorik Cana is one of the rare players to have worn the PSG and OM jersey during his career. This Wednesday, the former Albanian international played the game of comparisons. The former defender has fond memories of his time in Paris, but recognized the talent of certain Marseille players. He tells.
Arrived at PSG in 2003, Sleepy Cana made the decision to fly to OM two years later. “For me, it was Marseille, the only French club I supported. And I wanted to stay in France. The club corresponded to my mentality, to my DNA. When you have a childhood dream and you have the opportunity to make it come true, you don’t think twice about it. It was done in an extraordinary way. I was adopted quite quickly by this city and its people who have this passion for football,” said the former Albanian international. Like a Frédéric Déhu or a Fabrice Fiorèse, he is one of the rare players to have defended the colors of PSG and of the‘ABOUT during his career.
Lorik Cana doesn’t forget his PSG years
Guest of RMC this Wednesday, Sleepy Cana returned to his visit to PSG. “Best team I ever played on? It’s true that when I started my first matches, potentially with Ronaldinho’s team, with Luis Fernandez. The following year, also during the first year with Vahid, we won the Cup and we were vice-champions of France” confided the former defender.
“The best generation was at OM”
More Cana recognizes that‘ABOUT had more talent at that time thanks to the contribution of certain players like Samir Nasri or Franck Ribery. “But the best generation, in my opinion, was the one where we had Niang, Cissé, Nasri, Ribéry at OM” he declared.
