Former National Team Player José “Piculín” Ortiz Receives Overwhelming Support After Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis

Since the first moment he made public that he suffers from colorectal cancer, the former National Team player, José “Piculín”Ortiz, has received hundreds of messages of support and encouragement from former teammates, figures in the artistic field and the general public through of social networks.

One of them was the general manager of the national sextet and Ortiz’s former partner, Carlos Arroyo, who wrote to him: “José I love you and I admire you so much. Only you know how to win the most difficult games that life has given you.”

Piculín, 60, announced his health condition through a video on Instagram, accompanied by his wife Sylvia Ríos, where he indicated that the condition was detected at the beginning of this month. He did not offer details on what stage he is at.

“We are going to give it our all, my brother, work under pressure and executing is your thing. I love you brother,” wrote another former teammate of the National Team, point guard Christian Dalmau.

On the other hand, the sports journalist and former basketball player, Natalia Meléndez, became part of the publication, which exceeds 400 comments.
