Italy beat North Macedonia 5-2 in qualifying for the European Football Championships

The national men’s football team beat North Macedonia 5-2 in the penultimate match of the European Football Championship qualifiers, played on Friday evening at the Olimpico in Rome. The goals were scored by Matteo Darmian and Federico Chiesa (double) in the first half and then by Giacomo Raspadori and Stephan El Shaarawy in the second half. North Macedonia’s two goals were scored by Jani Atanasov instead, both in the second half.

With this result, Italy has reached Ukraine in second place in its group, against whom it will play on Monday evening in the last match of this phase, the decisive one: to qualify for the European Championships as second place behind England, it will be enough not to lose.
