Knicks, Julius Randle’s shooting crisis continues

After closing the last playoffs by worryingly lowering his average points and shooting percentage, Julius Randle hoped to return to his usual levels in this new season, his fifth with the New York Knicks shirt.

However, the first 6 games confirmed his shooting crisis:

According to NBA.com, the former Kentucky power forward is the worst in field goals among players with at least 8 shots attempted per game.

Furthermore, Randle has already suffered 13 blocks, the last one at the hands of Brook Lopez which was decisive for the Knicks’ defeat at the Bucks.

“I’m not in rhythm. I’m not in rhythm, it seems like nothing is working, this pushes me to force some shots…I should attack more as soon as I receive, on the move…Less isolations, more pick-and-rolls, and play more on the move, rather than receive the ball and attack from a standing start.”

After last night’s match, coach Thibodeau sent a message without naming any players: “The recipe for doing better? If you’re free, you shoot… If there are three men on you, pass to the free man. It’s simple, it’s not complicated.”
