The Las Vegas Raiders have had enough.
The team announced Tuesday night that it had fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager David Ziegler.
“After much consideration to determine what the Raiders need for the future, I have decided to cut points with Josh and Dave. I want to thank them for their work and wish them and their families the best,” commented owner Mark Davis.

According to the network’s Adam Schefter ESPNthe Raiders will name linebackers coach Antonio Pierce as interim head coach.
The Raiders missed the playoffs in the duo’s first season and are 3-5 so far in 2023. The team has lost its last two games, most recently against the Detroit Lions. Las Vegas is in third place in the NFC West division.
McDaniels and Ziegler were hired in January 2022 to replace Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock. Gruden resigned in October 2021 after an internal Commanders investigation revealed disgraceful comments he made while employed by the Washington team. For his part, Mayock was fired in January 2022 after the Raiders’ failures.
In 25 games behind the Raiders bench, McDaniels had a record of 9 wins against 16 losses.
