“I can not wait to start”. It’s the message of Walter Mazzarri who led his first training session (with the players in the squad who were not called up by their respective national teams) in his second adventure at Napoli. As reported by Il Mattino, the president Aurelio De Laurentiis accompanied by the hand the new coach in the Technical Center of Castel Volturno. Mazzarri was preferred to the Croatian Igor Tudor to replace Rudi Garcia sacked. The Tuscan coach had been out of action for a year after the 2021/22 season at Cagliari which ended with his dismissal.

On the official website of the Italian champions a concise farewell statement for the French coach: “The Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli has decided to revoke the role of technical manager of the first team from Mr. Rudi Garcia. He and his staff thanks for the collaboration provided to date“.
