Compliments arrive from the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, to the Lega B and to President Mauro Balata for the “red ball” initiative on the pitch today as part of the structural campaign to combat violence against women.
For the occasion, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, posed with the official red ball: “We must renew our commitment to doing everything possible to prevent violence against women and girls in Europe and everywhere in the world. There are no more excuses. We must act now – he said – It is already too late. We need an adequate protection framework, more sentences and to put an end to the institutional indifference that continues towards endemic violence against women.
Women deserve to live free from fear.
No words of comfort can ever bring a mother, daughter or sister back. But justice and responsibility are a support to alleviate the pain of those who remain alive.”
