Pablo Andujar was one of Roger Federer’s last opponents.

The 37-year-old was ranked 32nd in 2015 and won four titles on the ATP Tour. What is striking is that Andujar was able to win three titles in Morocco. The fourth triumph in Gstaad also came on his favorite surface, clay. The five other finals, as well as the eleven Challenger titles, were all won on the same surface.

Pablo Andujar was one of Roger Federer’s last defeaters. In 2021, the Spaniard won in three sets against the Swiss, against whom he is retiring with a positive record due to the only duel. There were four comparisons against Rafael Nadal. Andujar left the field as a loser in all matches.

Double title with Oliver Marach

Together with the Austrian Oliver Marach, the Spaniard won a 500 doubles tournament in Rio in 2015, but never fully relied on doubles competition. In recent years, Andujar has fallen back in the world rankings due to injuries, but has repeatedly tried to return to the tour. At the Masters in Madrid there was a defeat in qualifying against Zsombor Piros, which was the last appearance before the match in Valencia.

Now Pablo Andujar has decided that there will be no further attempt to make it into the top 100 in the world rankings again. Instead, the end of his career is now certain.
