Para-athletes Prepare for 2024 Paralympic Games in Belek Training Course

Some 21 athletes are present for this five-day course in Belek. Para-athletes from cycling, athletics, swimming, triathlon, archery and boccia. Some sports where our representatives shine are missing, such as table tennis, tennis or horse riding. For obvious logistical questions regarding the riders, and for calendar reasons for the others.

Among the athletes present, the Verviétois Roger Habschvery enthusiastic when we talk about the training conditions in Belek: “The facilities here are truly exceptional. And for those who, like us, do chair or wheeler athletics, the track is at the foot of the hotel, so it’s really ideal. There has no additional movement, and for recovery, it’s great. I see every year that this course is really very beneficial for me. In terms of bodybuilding or concerning the work on the trajectories, it allows me to start on a good basis for approach the winter period. It’s always important, and it’s even more so this year, because Paris is tomorrow!”

The 2024 Paralympic Games will take place from Wednesday August 28 to Sunday September 8. Double bronze medalist Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games (100 and 200m category T51), Roger Habsch will aim for a double gold medal in the city of lights, especially since he won gold in the 200m and silver in the 100 at the last world championships, which took place in July in… Paris.
