The former president of the Tigres del Licey, José Manuel Busto Fernández (Don Pepe), died this Wednesday. Under his mandate, Licey was champion twice, the first time in the 2005-06 season, under the direction of Rafael Landestoy in seven games against the Águilas Cibaeñas and the second time was with José Offerman directing the blue team against the Gigantes of Cibao in eight games.
Pepe Busto was elected three times in a row as president of the Tigres del Licey, the last time was in 2009-2011. LIDOM dedicated the 2017-18 season tournament to him.
