President López Obrador Meets with Cuban-Mexican Baseball Star Randy Arozarena

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador boasted about the meeting he had with Randy Arozarena, a Cuban-Mexican baseball player for the Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball.

In his morning conference this Monday, November 6 at the National Palace, López Obrador showed the video of the meeting he had on November 2, where Arozarena signed a jersey for him.

“I was there too, I just can’t say everything because they question a lot, but look who I was with. I was with Randy Arozarena about two days ago,” said the president, referring to the fact that he did not want to upload the video of his meeting with the baseball player in the middle of the devastation caused by Hurricane Otis.

López Obrador described the athlete as “very good” and highlighted that he helped with supplies for people affected by Hurricane “Otis” in Guerrero.

In the video that he already uploaded to his social networks, the president recognizes the figure of Arozarena while signing a jersey with the message: “With much love and respect for President López Obrador.”

For his part, the baseball player thanked the president and the fans for the support that Mexico has given him: “I am just another Mexican.”

López Obrador celebrated the results of the Mexican athletes at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, and accused criticism of Ana Gabriela Guevara, director of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Conade).

President López Obrador called on the owners of the San Diego Padres team “who are looking for a manager”: “Benjamín Hill is top-notch.”

“He would be a very good manager, just review how we came in third place in the world championship, and Benjamín Hill managed to harmonize everyone, he did a first-class job,” he said.
