Rafael Nadal will return to the tour in the 2024 season. The Spaniard wants to reveal the timing of his comeback in the coming days.

Rafael Nadal will return to the tour in 2024
Good news from Rafael Nadal: How the 22-time Grand Slam winner told his doctor Dr. Ángel Ruiz Cotorro announced that he will definitely return to the tour next year. “What has changed in the last few days and weeks is that I now know that I will play tennis again,” announced the 37-year-old.
Nadal has not been able to play a match since this year’s Australian Open and underwent hip surgery at the beginning of June. After slow initial months, the Iberian was recently able to increase the intensity in training: “I’m happy with how things are developing.”
Nadal sees Djokovic’s record out of reach
Nevertheless, Nadal cannot yet estimate at which level he will return. “I feel that it will be difficult to reach a very high level again, but if I didn’t have the hope of being able to be competitive again, I wouldn’t have worked so hard in the last few months,” said the Mallorcan.
However, Nadal believes it is impossible to catch up with 24-time major winner Novak Djokovic on the major list. “I won’t win any more Grand Slam tournaments than Novak Djokovic,” said the long-time world number one. However, it is much more important for him to enjoy his time on the pitch again.
Nadal: Soon decision on comeback time
At his doctor’s event, Nadal left it open exactly when he would return to the match court. On Thursday, the 14-time French Open champion announced an early decision on the place and time of his comeback via Instagram. Nadal recently completed his training sessions on hard courts.
Nadal did not announce whether 2024 would be his last on the tour. The Mallorcan suggested this at a press conference in his home country in mid-May. After his long injury break, Nadal is currently only ranked 664th in the world rankings.
