Red Lions and Red Panthers Aim for Olympic Qualification in Valencia Tournament

The Red Lions are Olympic champions. Like the Red Panthers, they must try to finish in the top 3 in a tournament with 8 countries.

Two other tournaments will be played in Oman, for the men, and in India, for the women. The classification was made based on the world ranking on November 5.

In Valencia, the Red Lions (FIH-2) will compete against host country Spain (FIH-8), South Korea (FIH-10), Ireland (FIH-13), Japan (FIH-15), Austria (FIH-19 ), Egypt (FIH-20) and Ukraine (FIH-29).

De Red Panthers (FIH-4) treffen Groot-Brittannië (FIH-7), Spain (FIH-8), Zuid-Korea (FIH-12), Ierland (FIH-13), Canada (FIH-16), Malaysia ( FIH-18) and Ukraine (FIH-28).

Great Britain (FIH-4), Germany (FIH-5), New Zealand (FIH-11), Malaysia (FIH-12), Pakistan (FIH-16), Canada (FIH-17), Chile (FIH- 22) and China (FIH-23) are the remaining eight men’s teams competing for qualification in Oman.

For women, Germany (FIH-5), India (FIH-6), New Zealand (FIH-9), Japan (FIH-11), Chile (FIH-14), the United States (FIH-15), Italy (FIH-19) and Czech Republic (FIH-25) in India for the final Olympic tickets.

In addition to host country France, the Netherlands, Australia, Argentina and South Africa are already assured of participation in the Olympic hockey tournament in Paris (July 27-August 9, 2024) thanks to a win in their continental championship, for both men and women.

India, for the men, and China, for the women, also qualified for Paris.
