Silvia Comendador and Leire Barona, under-22 racquetball world champions

Silvia Comendador, a paddler from La Villa de Don Fadrique, in the province of Toledo, has been proclaimed world champion with the Spanish women’s frontenis team in the U22 World Cup held in Mexico. She has achieved it together with her partner Leire Barona. The Spanish couple formed by Comendador and Leire Barona defeated Mexico in the final. The hosts won the first set, but Comendador and Barona reacted by taking the second set and culminating the comeback in the third to win the gold medal.

The Castilian-La Mancha, current under-22 European champion, also played in the Pelota Rubber final where she finished as runner-up. The title she achieved at the continental level allowed her to be selected by the Spanish Pelota Federation to compete in the U22 World Cup.

Comendador is one of the leaders of Spanish frontenis, as she is also the absolute European runner-up for clubs with the La Villa Frontenis Club.
