Soccer player Luis Díaz was reunited with his father, Luis Manuel, who was recently released after suffering a kidnapping on October 28, 2023 in Barrancas, Colombia.
The English Liverpool winger returned to his native country to play in the double qualifying round (against Brazil and Paraguay) and for the first time after the ordeal that his parents, both kidnapped, experienced. After disembarking in Bogotá, he traveled to Barranquilla and once at the hotel where the team is concentrated, he met face to face with his father.

The 26-year-old soccer player lived through days of despair and anguish after learning at the end of October that his parents had been kidnapped by the National Liberation Army (ELN).
Although his mother Cilenis Marulanda was released a couple of hours later, Mané spent 12 days in the hands of the guerrilla, until finally, on November 8, his release was announced.
