The MHP giants Ludwigsburg are used to long journeys in the Champions League. But the trip to Sassari/Italy beats all records and is like an odyssey. The giants will be traveling for a total of 61.5 hours for the guest appearance in Sardinia. All this for just 40 minutes of basketball.

Already on Tuesday morning (6.30 a.m.) the giant entourage with trainer Josh King (38) set off from the circular sports hall towards Stuttgart-Echterdingen Airport. At 8.25 a.m. we changed trains in Milan to Cagliari on Sardinia. Now came the most difficult part, the almost three-hour bus ride from the southeast of the island to the northwest.
After arrival (around 4.30 p.m.) a late dinner at the team hotel “Marini”. Afterwards training in the “Roberta Serradimigni” sports palace, where the second leg against Dinamo Sassari will take place on Wednesday at 8.30 p.m.

Thursday the whole return. Breakfast at 7 a.m. 8.30 a.m. bus return to Cagliari, via Milan back to Stuttgart. Arrive at the circular sports hall around 8 p.m. Sunday the league banger against Berlin (6.30 p.m., MHP Arena, live on Dyn, ad)
Coach King takes it easy: “Travel educates. We can make the return trip fun for ourselves. Because we only want one thing. We want revenge for the 79:89 defeat in the first leg.”
