The in-season tournament is in full swing, with three match days already over. Here you can find an overview of the results and the tables in the individual groups.
For the first time, the 30 NBA teams are playing not only for the Larry O’Brien Trophy, but also for the NBA Cup, which the winner of the new in-season tournament will receive.
NBA In-Season Tournament: The Mode
Six quarter-finalists will be played in four group games in six groups of five. In addition, the best group runner-up from the West and East receives a wildcard for the quarter-finals. In the end, eight teams reach the quarterfinals.
In the knockout round, the winner will be determined in just one game, with the semi-finals and final taking place in Las Vegas. All games with the exception of the final also count towards the regular season balance for the teams involved.
NBA In-Season Tournament: Tiebreaker-Regeln
Due to the few games, it is very likely that several teams will have the same record at the end of the group stage. Then the tiebreaker comes into play, which is determined according to the following criteria:
1. Direct comparison in the group phase2. Point difference in the group phase3. Points scored in the group stage4. Balance sheet in the 2022/235 regular season. The lot decides
NBA In-Season Tournament: Group A – East
In Group A, the Pacers have a good chance of winning the group after their win in Philadelphia. The decisive duel will take place on November 22nd in Atlanta. If the Pacers win there, they will probably no longer be able to win the group. The Sixers, on the other hand, have to win both of their games to have any chance at all.

In Group B, however, a lot is still open: the decision will probably only be made on the last match day, when the Bucks are guests in Miami.

Toronto hasn’t played a game yet, but the Celtics are the big favorites in the group and can almost secure group victory against the Raptors with a win in Canada.

Thanks to the away win in Phoenix, the Lakers’ chances of making it to the quarterfinals are excellent. Somewhat surprisingly, Utah has already achieved two wins. The decision regarding group victory should be made in LA on November 22nd.

There were only home wins in Group B, but the Nuggets are still in the best situation. Dallas and the Clippers, on the other hand, are almost eliminated and only have outside chances if all teams end up at 2-2.
