Every two years, FIFA organizes the U17 Football World Cup. In 2023, the tournament will take place in Indonesia, where 24 national teams will fight for the junior title from November 20th to December 2nd.
Brazil won the last edition of the tournament on home soil in 2019. In 2021, the U17 World Cup in Peru was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The record winner is Nigeria with five titles. Germany, on the other hand, has never been able to win the U17 World Cup.
The German U17 national team qualified for the World Cup this year as winners of the U17 European Championship. The team of national coach Christian Wück surprisingly won the Junior European Championships in Hungary in the spring.

U17 World Cup 2023: When will the knockout round take place?
The preliminary round of the World Cup begins on November 10th and ends with the last group games on November 18th.
The round of 16 games will be played from November 20th to 22nd. The quarter-final duels will be played on November 24th and 25th.
The two semi-final games are on November 28th, the game for third place on December 1st.
The U17 World Cup final will take place on December 2nd at 1:00 p.m. (CET) at the Manaham Stadium in Surakarta.
