Valle del Cauca Wins Gold in Coffee Axis National Games 2023 Basketball Tournament, As Women’s Competition Begins

After eight days of competition, where there were tears, injuries, sweat and a good technical level, the ‘hour of truth’ arrived with the medal dispute, in which Valle and Antioquia met again (Antioquia had beaten in the round-robin phase), this time in the final.

After four periods in which high-level basketball was the guest, the Valle del Cauca team won the victory and the champion title, beating the Antioqueños 83-63.

At that moment there was only space for celebration and joy, accompanied by tears of happiness. Gone were the suffering, sacrifice and long days of training. The objective had been achieved.

The podium was completed by Bogotá, who in a disputed game taken to extra time took the bronze medal, after beating a fierce Atlántico, who sold their 73-70 defeat dearly, because after having a good start to the tournament, they left with empty hands.

On the other hand, the match between the Santander and Bogotá teams opened it, on the same day of this Saturday, November 18, to the women’s basketball competition.

Eight teams began their journey in search of glory. On the first date, Bogotá beat Santander 60-44, Valle did the same 57-31 against Cundinamarca, Antioquia beat Cundinamarca 67-47 and Meta defeated the local Quindío 35-27.

It is Sunday, November 19 The second date will be played as follows: Goal vs. Antioquia, at 1:00 pm; Bogota vs. Cundinamarca, at 3:00 pm; Santander vs. Valle, at 5:00 pm, and Quindío vs. North of Santander, 7:00 pm
