ADA Blois is in free fall. Milan Barbitch and his teammates suffered a sixth defeat in a row on Sunday, at home, against promoted Saint-Quentin (75-60) and slipped to fifteenth place in the Betclic Élite ranking after the 14th day but with one more match disputed and lost Tuesday against Asvel (85-77 defeat).
Julien Mahé’s players led the entire match, capitalizing on the very weak Blesian attack from the first quarter (24-9) then controlled the few opposing jolts to win by a good margin. The SQBB won its first away match since October 14, at Gravelines (78-69), and followed up with a second success in a row to join Strasbourg in eighth place in the ranking with a balanced record (7-7).
Mute attack for the ADA
Not very successful (39% on shots, and 15 out of 26 on free throws, 18 lost balls), like their attacking leader Milan Barbitch (11 points but 2 out of 6 on shots and 5 lost balls), ADA was never able to get within twelve points of the promoted team, despite Josh Hawley (17 points) and the double double of Armel Traoré (10 points, 13 rebounds).
Saint-Quentin shot 50% from long distance (12 of 24) with mention to young guard Melvin Ajinça (4 of 5), leader Tyger Campbell signed 10 points and 11 assists but the main satisfaction is probably to have held Blois to 60 points at the Jeu de Paume.
