An unprecedented Hertl piece. He scored two goals on the power play, San Jose celebrates a sensational turnaround

Eight minutes before the end, the San Jose hockey players were losing in the NHL game against the New York Islanders by three goals, but in the end they celebrated a 5:4 victory in overtime. The Czech striker Tomáš Hertl deserved it, who even scored two goals on the power play and scored a hat trick in the match.

Hertl came through for the first time in the 13th minute, in which he equalized with a shot from the circle to make it 1:1.

The Islanders rebounded thanks to two used plays to 4-1, but the end belonged to San Jose. Kevin Labanc scored a goal in the 52nd minute and the Czech striker sent the match into overtime with two hits while his team was playing without a goalkeeper.

At 56:49, he promptly picked up a knocked down puck at the left post and slid it over the concrete of goalkeeper Sorokin.

A minute and a half before the end of the third period, he finished off a smart pass from William Eklund into the empty net to complete the Sharks’ turnaround in overtime.

At the same time, the home team hit the post twice in overtime.

Hertl scored the sixth hat trick in his career in the best hockey league and was named the first star of the duel.

Of the Czech players, only David Jiříček scored on Tuesday. After his pass, Columbus took a 3-0 lead over Los Angeles, but lost 3-4 in overtime. The Czech defender scored his fifth point of the season (1+4), when after his pass, Mathieu Oliver increased the score to 3:0.

But Los Angeles equalized in the third period thanks to Phillip Danault’s two hits, and Drew Doughty completed the turnaround in overtime. The Kings thus won their tenth game on the road.

Calgary goalkeeper Daniel Vladař saved three of Minnesota’s sixteen shots and substituted at the beginning of the second period when the score was 0:3.

In his previous start, he allowed just one goal against Vegas to lead Calgary to a win, but this time he only lasted in the goal area until the 22nd minute.

After only 86 seconds of the game, Marcus Foligno surpassed him from close range, he received the remaining two goals at the beginning of the middle part.

First, Kirill Kaprizov made his way from the stop and sent Vladar to the substitutes with a shot from the left circle by Matt Boldy, who scored twice in the match. Minnesota kept the lead and won 5-2.

Vítek Vaněček let in five goals from 33 shots, yet New Jersey won 6:5 in Vancouver.

Thanks to Jack Hughes’ three points (1+2), the Devils led 5:2 in the 48th minute, but the home team overcame Vaněček three times and equalized.

New Jersey still took the win, with 34 seconds left on Jesper Bratt’s second goal of the night.

Dominik Kubalík did not score, but he fought for the first time in the NHL. He hit Braden Schneider on the goalpost and sent him to the ice, for which Erik Gustafsson challenged him to a fist fight. The two exchanged a few blows and ended up on the ice. However, the Czech striker was happy to win the game, beating the New York Rangers 6:2 with Ottawa.
