Anquetin wins the Longines Grand Prix

Excitement in abundance and a passionate atmosphere was experienced at the Casas Novas facilities on the occasion of the Longines Grand Prix jump-off and the possibility of a Spanish victory that was cherished until the last moment. The expert Jesús Garmendia and his spectacular Callias did the rest in their jump-off route and took the lead in the classification with a time of 38:36 seconds, which seemed unbeatable, after completing a second route of ten, with an intense gallop and a dizzying turn towards the finish line.

But shortly after, Julien Anquetin ruined the San Sebastian’s chances of victory, with a replica of his route, but with a little more intensity on the last line, where the Frenchman and his Blood Diamond du Pont recovered a few hundredths decisive to achieve the victory. And the Frenchman stopped the clock when he crossed the finish line in 37:70 seconds, only 63 hundredths of a second less than the Spaniard. The award was presented by Elena Orozco, Brand Manager of Longines, and Flora Perez Marcote, representing Casas Novas.

The final touch of the 44th edition of the CSI will come today with three new events, two of the CSI1* and the Longines FEI Grand Prix Casas Novas Trophy World Cup. The day begins at 12:15 p.m. with the Movistar Trophy, which will give way, at 2:15 p.m., to the last CSI1* test, the Prosegur Grand Prix.
