Anthony Sinisuka Ginting admitted that he had experienced muscle problems in his knees. This happened during the preparation period for the 2023 China Masters. However, now he is recovering.

Ginting expressed this at the Bright Up Cup 2023 event which took place at GOR Sudirman, Surabaya, on Sunday (3/12/2023).

Ginting was one of the athletes who appeared in the exhibition match with other PBSI Pelatnas residents such as Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Hendra Setiawan, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

As well as two mixed doubles pairs, Rinov Rivaldy/Phita Haningtyas Mentari and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.

On that occasion, Ginting was asked about preparations for the nearest BWF World Tour Finals tournament, which will be held in Hangzhou, on 13-17 December.

“Praise God, despite all conditions, it is getting better day by day, especially the condition of the knee which is still being repaired. Hopefully the performance will get better day by day,” said the 2023 Singapore Open champion.

Ginting himself previously said that the 2023 BWF World Tour Finals had been one of his important targets since the start of the 2023 season. If he passes, he will make the most of this opportunity. Moreover, only the eight best badminton players can appear in this year’s closing tournament.

“Being able to enter the WTF is like a bonus because only 8 players can participate. Of course this is a big opportunity for me too, and all the players who take part in the World Tour Finals will get as many points as possible because this is included in the Olympic points calculation.” he said.

“You can also see, the potential opponents are the 8 best this year, so it won’t be that easy, the opponents also have more opportunities and motivation like me,” said Ginting.

“For that, I will focus on myself first, which means being able to get back into better condition, training. Yes, everything can be better later. So when I get there (Hangzhou), I don’t have anything else to think about, just play and just compete,” he said.
