The Arceri delle Dune company brought a new indoor competition at an interregional level to the area
FASANO – The spotlight is on the discipline of archery which last Sunday (1st October) appeared in the sports hall for the fourth edition of the Fasano Archery cup 2023, an inter-regional indoor competition.
A competition that had qualification for the 2024 Italian championships at stake, under the aegis of Fitarco, the national federation that takes care of this discipline. The well-attended event was organized by the Arcieri delle Dune association of president Francesco Guarini, which has always been at the forefront of the growth of a sport that has set foot in the city thanks to this association. The tests were held in two shifts, throughout the day, with the brilliant placings recorded by the local athletes Giorgia Lenoci, who wore the gold medal in the female student category, and Denis Tarì, in the center with the gold in the Girls’ category.
The president of Fitarco Puglia Antonio Fusti also spoke in the splendid location of the Vigna Marina sports hall, wanting to see up close the progress of an Apulian team that achieved a flattering seventh place at the recent Coni Trophy championships. A respectable placing considering that it is a sport that has recently arrived in Puglia and is now on the rise with a good number of clubs and a pool of young athletes who promise well from an Italian perspective. Mayor Francesco Zaccaria intervened to do the honors during the event.
In the area, therefore, the event was held thanks to the Arceri delle Dune, a Fasano company founded only in 2018, but which is already demonstrating its weight also at an Italian level with the presence of some athletes in the national raking with good placings, just think that the Fasano club brought two athletes to the last Italians: one in the Girls category and one in the Students. In fact, the regulation allows you to qualify for the Italian championships when you reach a notable overall score in all the races held during the competitive season. Of course, the local club aims to bring an Italian title to Fasano, trying to leverage the young promises of the local club, as emerged during last Sunday’s match.
