ROVIGO – The usual big party. But in a completely new period and location. Friday evening Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, branded Itas Mutua, has revived the “Baseball Night”, the sports marketing event that the rossoblù club has been offering to the city for years now to celebrate sporting results achieved on the diamond and to offer a moment of entertainment and entertainment. This time it did it a few days before Christmas, in a “winter edition” hosted in the conference room of the Episcopal Seminary of Rovigo and organized with the support of the Veneto Region.
At 6.30pm the curtain rose on the long parade of the teams, authorities and partners of the Rovigo club. The great star of the evening was the comedian and actor Gianni Cinelli, known to the general public for his participation in Zelig. His jokes and sketches dictated the rhythm of the parade of male and female athletes on stage: starting from the little ones of minibaseball, up to the two senior teams of Serie A baseball and Serie A2 softball, flagships of a movement rossoblù which however continues to have its beating heart in the thick nursery. There was no shortage of applause for the many athletes called up during the year in the various national selections, as well as for the large group of baseball for the blind. The short film was previewed during the evening “The lights of the diamond” created by Nicolò Falghera and produced by the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, dedicated specifically to baseball for the blind and already available on social media.
“It is incredible how, year after year, our club continues to grow from all points of view – underlined the president of the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, Alessandro Boniolo, greeting the approximately 200 people present – Ours is a different way of playing sport: we combine activities on the diamond with many initiatives for families and for the community in general. This is the path we intend to follow in the future.” Also present at “Baseball Night”. Cristiano Corazzari, regional councilor for sport: “In 2024, Veneto will be the European Region of Sport – he recalled – A great result resulting from the liveliness of our movement, fed ceaselessly above all by virtuous clubs such as the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo”. The sports councilor of the Municipality of Rovigo, Mattia Milan, during his greeting underlined how “over 50% of the Rovigo athletes involved in the Serie A of their respective disciplines are registered with the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo”. During the evening Pia Poliero brought greetings from the Panathlon Club Rovigo.
All the authorities took turns on stage to reward the teams. Together with them also the representatives of the partners of the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo: Itas Mutua, Adriatic LNG, Banca Veneto Centrale, Avis and Fineco.
