Celebrating Generosity and Solidarity: The Telethon’s Glittering Event

The Telethon is this cathodic high mass celebrating generosity and solidarity with lots of glitter, songs and sporting exploits; against a backdrop of advanced disaster in the face of a degraded and hostile international situation, this charitable event to fight against myopathies and other rare genetic diseases must remain a parenthesis of gentleness, serenity and hope. In Salles-Courbatiés and Naussac, as in many other towns, festive gatherings took place: around judo and budokaï from Friday evening in Naussac, in a hike organized by Diégeons Ensemble, with mulled wine, board games and sale of Christmas wreaths and cakes at the Foyer Rural in Salles-Courbatiés on Saturday 9 and finally on Sunday 10 December around a concert in the church of Naussac: 2 choirs, “La Maison de l’Amitié” from Villefranche and “Les Voix de la Bastide” by Villeneuve, performed one after the other. While the first begged “Santa Maria” to “take a child by the hand” (Yves Duteil), the second asked God, with Bourvil, to “make it rain… torrents of tenderness so that love reigns until ‘at the end of days’. May Heaven hear them!
