CONADE receives donation of badminton sports equipment from ‘Sports for Tomorrow’ initiative

The National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), directed by Ana Gabriela Guevara Espinoza, received a donation of badminton sports equipment, from “Sports for Tomorrow”, an international project implemented by the Government of Japan, with the objective of develop sporting habits and give greater visibility to this discipline, while contributing to improving skills, techniques and values.

The event, held in the Ball Pavilion of the National Center for the Development of Sports Talents and High Performance (CNAR), was headed by Adolfo Fierro Rodríguez, deputy director of Sports at CONADE, and Noriteru Fukushima, ambassador of Japan in Mexico, where He highlighted the brotherhood that exists between both countries.

“It is important to highlight that the friendly relationship between Mexico and Japan has had deep and historical roots, and for sport there are no distances, no borders and there are no differences in languages, because it is a universal language, it unites us in the same understanding. and exalts mutual respect; I emphasize this union and the brotherhood that exists between both countries for the benefit of sport and society,” highlighted Adolfo Fierro.

“With this donation of sports materials it is an incentive to continue training and activities, and implies an opportunity to have fraternal lines that reinforce harmonious coexistence between countries,” he added.

Noriteru Fukushuma, ambassador of Japan, who also served as ambassador of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, highlighted the support of CONADE to continue with this international project, which has reached more than 100 countries.

“The government of Japan makes this “Sports for Tomorrow” program so that people come closer and learn about the importance of sport for various countries and we want to continue with this project in Mexico, with the support of CONADE and badminton associations; “Sport is an important weapon for people’s lives and we seek to give greater visibility to this discipline that is very popular in Asia,” Fukushima explained.

The donation consisted of more than 100 badminton rackets and pairs of tennis shoes, which will be used during the training and activities carried out by the Subdirectorate of Physical Culture of this institution, so, to close the event, there was an exhibition of badminton with girls and boys, who train at Deportivo Gumersindo Romero, belonging to the Benito Juárez mayor’s office.

The event was also attended by Hajime Tsuboi, general director of the JICA Mexico office; Rut Castillo Galindo, director of High Performance at CONADE; Francisco Javier Orozco Flores, president of the Mexican Badminton Federation; Susana Ortega Espinoza, in charge of the dispatch office of the Subdirectorate of Physical Culture of CONADE, and Luis Emir Delint Armengol, director of Physical Activation and Recreation of CONADE, and Carlos Adolfo Villaseñor García, director of CNAR.

In September 2022, CONADE, through the Directorate of International Relations and in coordination with the Subdirectorate of Physical Culture, activated the International Sports Cooperation program with JICA Mexico (Japan International Cooperation Agency), an organization that designated two Japanese experts Yuna Mikuni, expert in physical education, and Yui Shinohara, specialty in the discipline of badminton, to collaborate on issues of Physical Culture and Sports, with the respective bodies of the states of the Mexican Republic, both state and municipal.
