DHL Express, the world leader in international express transportation, announces the appointment of new regional CEOs for Europe and America. Current CEO of the Americas, Mike Parra, will take on a new role as CEO of DHL Express Europe and relocate his office to Madrid. For his part, Andrew Williams, current CEO of DHL Express Canada, will take the position of regional CEO of the Americas. Both will begin operating in their new responsibilities on January 1, 2024, will report to John Pearson, global CEO of DHL Express, and will be members of the company’s Global Board of Directors, as reported in a press release.

Parra has been CEO of the Americas since 2016. Since then, he has led the DHL Express division to double its size in revenue, adding more than 12,000 jobs and expanding its operational footprint in the region, most recently with new regional HUBs. in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and adding new direct flights within the network to Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

The executive began his career in the logistics industry by joining DHL Express in 1997 as manager of a company service center in Miami. He has held various roles within the organization, including Director of Regional Services, Vice President of Operations for the United States, Senior Vice President of Network Operations for the Americas and CEO of DHL Express United States. He has also overseen global sponsorships for the division, something he will continue to do in his new role.

As the new regional CEO for Europe, Mike Parra will direct DHL Express operations in more than 60 countries and territories from Madrid, leading a team of more than 46,000 employees dedicated to serving a base of more than 1.3 million customers.

Andrew Williams began his logistics career as a frontline sales executive at Loomis Express in 1996. Following the integration of the Loomis business into the DHL Group in 2002, he took on the role of DHL Express Sales Director for the Eastern Canada. He moved laterally to serve as Vice President and General Manager of Ontario DHL Express in 2004 and then returned to the commercial role in 2009 as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for DHL Express Canada. At the end of 2011 he assumed the regional position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing of DHL Express Americas and had dual responsibility as sponsor of the board of directors of the Caribbean area of ​​​​DHL Express.

In 2015, Williams was named CEO of DHL Express Canada. During his time in charge, the Canada team has doubled in size and the country has become one of the five largest inbound countries in the world for DHL Express.

In his new role as Regional CEO for the Americas, Williams will be responsible for managing DHL Express’ business in more than 55 countries and territories, leading more than 29,000 employees serving more than 600,000 customers. He will be based at DHL Express’ regional headquarters in Plantation, Florida.
