Diablos Rojos Team Prepares for Showdown in Youth Guatemalan Winter Baseball League Final

The Diablos Rojos team, led by Holguín manager Jorge Luis Zaldívar, will go out this Wednesday to tie the final of the youth Guatemalan Winter Baseball League vs the Bronx, defending championwhich won on the opening day 9×4.

The Bronx sqaud, overwhelming in the qualifying stage of this fifth edition of the so-called Big League with 17-1, took out all its weapons to contain the rival push, among them the right-handed pitcher Eldris Castillo.

The Dominican left the game with eight runs in seven and two thirds innings, although he allowed four runs and 10 hits, before being replaced by local Estuardo Amado, who was not scored upon. Speaking to Prensa Latina prior to the game, Jorge Luis Zaldívar, manager of Holguin, a member of the 2008 Cuban World Youth Team in Edmonton, Canada, explained that the Red Devils are making their debut in the event and he is satisfied with their performance.
