Feyenoord confirms: new contract for Rust

Fabiano Rust signed a new contract with Feyenoord on Monday afternoon. The 18-year-old attacker from Feyenoord Academy, who signed his first professional contract at Varkenoord almost three years ago, will therefore remain affiliated with the club until mid-2026.

“As a club, we are happy that with Fabiano’s contract extension we have once again been able to sign a talented player from our own Academy on a long-term basis,” says Rini Coolen, Head of Academy of Feyenoord. Fabiano is making excellent development as a physically strong and easily scoring striker and has already shown this this season during various Under 21 and Under 19 matches in the UEFA Youth League.

“It means a lot to me that I have been able to extend my contract with what I consider to be the most beautiful club in the Netherlands,” says Rust, shortly after signing in the De Kuip Press Center. ‘I want to develop into a complete striker in the coming years and continue to score goals at Feyenoord Under 21. When the time comes, I hope to eventually make the step to Feyenoord 1.’

The Delft-born attacker spent the first years of his football career playing for SVLY from The Hague, DHC from Delft and the youth academy of ADO Den Haag, before switching to Feyenoord Academy in the summer of 2019. At Varkenoord he went through all the youth teams and is currently a player for Feyenoord Under 21.
