Naples triumph at the AIC Calcio Gran Galà, staged in Milan in its eleventh edition to reward the best of the 2022/23 season. The Neapolitan club won the award as best club for the year in which it won the third championship in its history, while former manager Luciano Spalletti won the award as best coach and Victor Osimhen was awarded as best player. Five Neapolitans in the top 11 of the championship, with Maignan in goal, a 4-man defense with Di Lorenzo, Kim, Bastoni and Theo Hernandez, a midfielder with Calhanoglu, Lobotka and Barella and in attack the trio formed by Leao, Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia (awarded also as best goal for the goal against Atalanta).
In the women’s field, the best player was Tabitha Chawinga (at Inter in 2022/23, now at PSG), while the award for the best goal was awarded to Roma player Manuela Giugliano. In the top 11, Durante found space in goal, Boattin, Linari, Minami and Wenninger in defence, Alves Da Silva, Caruso, Greggi, Grosso in midfield with Chawinga and Haavi in attack.
Among others, the best referee was Daniele Orsato, while the best young Serie B player is Giovanni Fabbian from Reggina, now at Bologna. Finally, a special recognition was awarded to Gianluigi Buffon.
