Football Observer Ronny Pangemanan Optimistic About Naturalization Plan for American Goalkeeper Maarten Paes

Bola.net – Football observer and commentator Ronny Pangemanan expressed optimism regarding the plan to naturalize American goalkeeper Maarten Paes. Ropan, his nickname, believes that Paes’ presence will solve the Indonesian National Team’s problems in the goalkeeping sector.

According to Ropan, one of the positions that is currently still relatively a problem in the Indonesian National Team is the goalkeeper sector. So, he thinks, Paes’ presence will solve this problem.

“We do have goalkeepers (like) Ernando (Ari), M. Riyandi, Syahrul (Trisna), and Nadeo (Argawinata). However, we also need strong goalkeepers like Maarten Paes,” said Ropan, in kanal youtube bung ropan.

Maarten Paes himself is said to have entered PSSI’s target for immediate naturalization. His name, reportedly, has been discussed several times in the federation’s internal discussions.

Paes himself is the goalkeeper for the Major League Soccer team, FC Dallas. He is the team’s mainstay goalkeeper.

It is hoped that Paes’ presence will make the Indonesian National Team’s back line even stronger. He is also plotted to be able to become a wall under the crossbar for the Garuda Squad.

Kian Complete with Cyrus Margono

Apart from Paes, according to Ropan, hope is also in the hands of Cyrus Margono. The player who is currently strengthening the Panathinaikos B team is also expected to be able to make the Garuda Squad’s goal difficult for opposing players to break into.

“This is not the package proposed by Shin Tae-yong. Cyrus Margono proposed it himself. If STY proposed it, PSSI would of course take care of it,” said Ropan.

Even though STY was not proposed, Ropan remains optimistic that Cyrus Margono will be a key figure for the Indonesian National Team.

“I think the Chairman of PSSI will see this,” said this former journalist.

“If there are Paes, Margono and Ernando, of course it will be good for the national team,” emphasized Ropan.
