Former Tennessee Titans Tight End Frank Wycheck Dies at 52 After Fall at Home

Wycheck’s family said in a statement that he apparently fell inside his Chattanooga home.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee. — Former tight end of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, Frank Wycheck, died on Saturday. She was 52 years old.

Wycheck’s family said in a statement that he apparently fell inside his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and hit his head on Saturday morning. He was found unconscious later that same day.

Frank Wycheckmember of the Ring of Honor Titans, caught 482 passes for 4,958 yards and 27 touchdowns for the Oilers/Titans franchise. His 482 receptions are the third most in franchise history and he was elected to the Pro Bowl three times (1998, 1999 and 2000).

Frank Wycheck He was one of the Oilers’ key players when they moved to Tennessee in 1997 and is best known for one of the most famous plays in NFL history. Wycheck leaves behind two adult daughters, Deanna and Madison, both married, and three grandchildren, Leo, Stevie and August. The family, per his request, plans to work with experts for ongoing brain injury research.
