Frenkie de Jong’s agent, Ali Dursun, does not accept that the Dutch international and star player of FC Barcelona is under fire because he ‘falsely’ reported sick for his team’s trip to Antwerp in the Champions League.
Normally the De Jong camp does not feel called to respond to stories in the media, but the Spanish radio station RAC1 has revealed that Barcelona’s sporting director Deco would also have doubts about his player. In a telephone conversation, RAC1 claims through journalist Marius Carol, Deco asked whether he was really ill and whether the doctor had also diagnosed this.
“Total fake news,” says Dursun about the riot, which in his view should not be a riot. “It is the biggest nonsense that has been released around Frenkie in a long time. The player is just sick. He has symptoms of fever and has been unable to travel and play.”
“Professional through and through”
De Jong always works through a killer program during the busiest periods of the season and has no reason to drop out of certain matches.
