Japanese Baseball Superstar Shohei Ohtani Signs Record Contract with Los Angeles Dodgers

He is one of the biggest stars in US sports – and has now announced a spectacular change: Shohei Ohtani has a new team – in the same city.

Baseball superstar Shohei Ohtani is moving to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Japanese signed with his new club for ten years and received $700 million – a record contract in baseball. “This is a unique, historic contract for a unique, historic player,” Ohtani’s agent Nez Balelo of CAA Sports said in a statement.

The 29-year-old Ohtani moved to the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball in 2018. “I have decided to choose the Dodgers as my next team,” Ohtani wrote on social media Saturday, ending speculation about his future.
