Yesterday the Draft of the Ligurian league of the Jr. NBA FIP U13 Championship took place, one of the two competitions of the Jr. NBA FIP Project carried out by the Federation with the famous American basketball league.
At the CUS Genoa Hall, in Via Monte Zovetto, each of the teams participating in the championship was assigned an NBA franchise. Each of these clubs will participate in the championship matches with the uniform of the American team that was associated with them through the Draft, thus allowing their players to identify with their adult basketball idols. Next appointment in January, with the Jr. NBA FIP Schools League Draft, the competition dedicated to comprehensive schools.
This is the comment of Peppe Fusco, Head of the Minibasketball Sector of the CR Liguria of the FIP: «A great day, we in Liguria must be proud of this Draft. We are happy with the participation of so many children, with so many companies present. This year we have a record number of teams, demonstrating that our grassroots movement is very thriving and growing every year. We are happy with the many children present who were able to see the new NBA uniforms, much more beautiful than last year.”
This is the comment of Pino Gonella, President of the CR Liguria of the FIP: «It is with great enthusiasm that the Liguria Regional Committee of the FIP announces the start of the NBA Jr. FIP U13 Championship in January. A great opportunity for all the young people of our region, who will be able to identify with their idols from overseas by wearing their own tank tops. We wish all the teams maximum success and hope that this sporting experience will contribute to the growth of our movement and our kids, inspiring them to pursue their dreams in the world of basketball.
