KV Oostende Faces Sanctions for Violating Association Regulations

The Licensing Commission announced on Wednesday that KV Oostende has not fulfilled its obligations regarding federal debts (transfers) and social debts (RSZ, BV, VAT) and has therefore violated the association regulations.

KVO was unable to provide proof of payment for the social security contributions and withholding tax for October, nor was it able to provide proof of payment for the September VAT return. In addition, KVO failed to pay the transfer fees for Juanda Fuentes and Mateo Barac.

In line with the association regulations, the Licensing Committee has now imposed a three-pronged sanction on the club.

KVO must surrender 3 points in the Challenger Pro League, is no longer allowed to make transfers for the 1st team and receives an additional reduction of 2 players from the maximum number of players older than U21 on the Squad Size Limit (SSL).

“The restriction of the SSL or the ban on transfers can only be lifted by the Licensing Commission after confirmation by the Licensing Auditorate of the full implementation of the club’s obligations,” it said.
