Learning Badminton with Social Worker Han Seung-jae: A Fun and Educational Experience for Children

(Author: Park Seong-bin, social worker)

Next is learning badminton.

We are hiring a teacher to learn badminton with children.

We decided to hire Han Seung-jae, a social worker who works at a welfare center, as our teacher.

Agent Han Seung-jae is a grateful person who loves children and is sincere in his duties.

Since he is always at the welfare center, if you get to know the children, you will become a familiar face.

I hope you have a good time through this activity.

First, we took them to the place where the planning team was working for a preliminary interview.

I asked the children what they wanted to learn and why they wanted to learn it.

They say they want to know how to play well enough to beat their parents, siblings, and friends.

I couldn’t talk specifically about how to play well.

After having fun talking with the kids, we learned what we need to do to be good at badminton.

I decided to learn where I could have fun doing it.

It’s a day to learn badminton.

Today, A-yeon’s friend A-jeong also came.

He said he came because he thought badminton would be fun.

I hope that Ah-jeong can learn together and have fun playing badminton with Ah-yeon in the future.

Following the opinion that badminton should be played in a place without wind, we decided to go to the badminton court.

We decided to go to the public badminton court under Banghwa Bridge.

Although the distance is a bit far, I hope the children can learn and play happily.

I took the subway to Banghwa Station with my children and walked.

The distance was longer than expected, so it took longer than expected.

I wondered if it would have been better to use the welfare center car along the way, but

If you go by car, it may be difficult for children to get there on their own.

It was also great to see so many children traveling together and making memories together.

Arriving at the badminton court, social worker Seungjae Han stepped out in front of the children.

He said he was thinking about how he could help him play well, based on what we had talked about before.

So, I decided to teach the most basic things: how to serve and how to send it far.

The serve teaches you how to hit it diagonally, under the arm, and hit it softly.

After serving, you will be taught how to hit by moving your wrist rather than your shoulder.

Have fun learning by imitating Agent Han Seung-jae.

After Agent Han Seung-jae’s speech, the children all disperse to play badminton.

Fortunately, the badminton court is large so all the children can play badminton without a break.

Because I still don’t have enough strength, I haven’t been able to use everything I’ve learned so hard.

I have fun playing badminton.

With the badminton I learned today, I would like to play badminton at home with my parents and siblings and confidently say that I am good at it.
