The Egyptian played a total of five years in the NBA starting in 2017. As a weak forward, he played for the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns, after spending his college years at Northern Illinois and at Iowa State. Nader has a total of 202 NBA games under his belt.

For now, Oldenburg has no plans to permanently hire his training guest. But if he continues to perform well, that could change. The condition is that both parties agree on the financial plan. Compared to his NBA salary, Nader would have to make significant concessions.
The objective is first of all to improve the quality of training thanks to this experienced professional. Indeed, the Oldenburg team has been experiencing serious injury problems for several weeks. During the 58-79 defeat against championship leader Chemnitz, the Baskets were deprived of five key elements (among others Manning, Pjanic, DiLeo). These problems are causing a small crisis within the former flagship club of the Easycredit Basketball Bundesliga.
In all competitions, coach Pedro Calles’ team has lost six consecutive games. Les Baskets are now banking on a week and a half of rest before the next Champions League match against Karsiyaka (Turkey). This should at least allow players who are still active to recharge their batteries.
Oldenburg sporting director Srdjan Klarić said after the Chemnitz defeat: “We saw that many players couldn’t take it anymore at the end. The number of minutes on the pitch is very high for each player. seven professionals are playing to the limit of their possibilities. It suits us well to have a little more rest now.”
