Thomson, who is 60 years old, is 155-118 since replacing Joe Girardi as Phillies manager on June 3, 2022. Thomson led the Phillies to the World Series in 2022, where they lost in six games to the Houston Astros. The Phillies returned to the NL Championship Series this season, but blew leads of 2-0 and 3-2 in Games 6 and 7 at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. .
Thomson helped the Phillies go 90-72 in 2023, confirming their first season of at least 90 wins since 2011. Last October, he also became the third manager in major league history to win 18 of his first 25 playoff games, joining Joe McCarthy and Casey Stengel in this exclusive group.
