PSG Survives the Group of Death: Qualifies for Round of 16

PSG saves the furniture

BVB and PSG qualify first and second, respectively, for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. Signal Iduna Park had an intense match, with pace and full of chances. Two teams that had moments in which they could score, and with a final result of 1-1 that falls short.

Luis Enrique’s team played a game in which they sought to win, but with one eye on England. For some moments, the Parisians were worried about being left out in the group stage. Milan ended up lending a hand by coming back against Newcastle and winning 1-2.

During the second 45′, BVB would be the team that would take the lead first with a goal from Adeyemi. The local joy would not last long, and the pearl of PSG, Zaïre-Emery, would equalize the contest.

Mbappé pulled out all the stops, and although he will not appear in the statistics, he left actions that brought his team closer to the goal on more than one occasion. The ‘7’ even scored an offside goal that made it 1-2 to reassure his teammates.

Whatever the case, PSG is finally a team for the round of 16. As second place, but will once again be in the knockout phase of Europe’s most important tournament at club level. Sweating, suffering, but surviving the group of death.
