Real Madrid player David Alaba breaks his cruciate

MADRID, 17 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid defender David Alaba was seriously injured this Sunday in the duel against Villarreal on matchday 17 of LaLiga EA Sports, a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, as confirmed by his club after the match at the Santiago Bernabéu .

“After the tests carried out on our player David Alaba, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will undergo surgery in the coming days,” said Madrid’s medical note.

Alaba made a bad support when going to pressure a rival and his left knee was obviously dislocated. The Austrian player was unable to leave the field on his own and was substituted in the 35th minute, confirming the worst prognosis shortly after.

With Alaba’s injury, Real Madrid has already had three cruciate injuries this season, an injury that establishes a minimum of six months out. In the same week in mid-August, Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Brazilian defender Éder Militao tore the same anterior cruciate ligament in their left knee.
