RTVE Secures Rights to Broadcast 400 Hours of Paris 2024 Olympics across Channels and Platforms

RTVE will offer 400 hours of all the sports of the Paris 2024 Olympics in open air, through La 1, La 2, as well as on the different RNE stations, RTVE Play and on official social networks after the agreement reached with Warner Bros. Discovery, owner of the rights for Spain, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

“RTVE improves the conditions of the previous Olympic event, in Tokyo, by adding La 2 to the channels that will be able to broadcast content. This multiplicity of screens will allow viewers not to miss anything that happens in Paris,” the entity reported this Friday. public in a statement.

Warner Bros. Discovery will have the pay television rights, including its own channels, and will continue to be the only place that will offer ‘every moment’ of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on its digital and streaming platforms in Spain, the text adds.

The Olympic Games will be held between July 26 and August 11 in Paris and other sub-venues such as Bordeaux, Nice, Lyon, Nantes, Saint Ettienne, Marseille, Lille or Tahiti, in French Polynesia. They will be able to see competitions in 32 sports, with 10,500 athletes and 41 competition venues.

Spain could attend with a delegation close to 340 athletes. Among those would be Rafa Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Carolina Marín, or the walking champions María Pérez and Álvaro Martín. There are already more than 100 classified and always with the dream of surpassing the 22 medals of Barcelona 1992.

RTVE announced that it is thus ensuring that it will be the stable window for the different Olympic events until 2032, after having reached previous agreements through the EBU for the summer edition of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032, and for the Games Winter Olympics in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2026 and in the French Alps in 2030.
