Santa Pola has named the archery field after José Vicente Ballesteros. The Santapoler athlete has been one of the great promoters of this specialty and that is why the City Council decided that his name would appear representing this municipal field. Yesterday the government team inaugurated the new name to honor the one who was one of the founding members in the 80s of the CICA Hunting and Archery Club of Santa Pola, today “Al Nadur”, and promoter of the practice of this sport in the Ville. The mayor Loreto Serrano and the Sports Councilor Ángel Piedecausa, together with the club president, Manuel Fuentes Dols, and numerous shooting companions accompanied the protagonist himself and his family in the officialization of this agreement as a tribute.
They reiterate at the municipal level that thanks to their work this sport took root in the town “until the CICA became one of the reference clubs in the Valencian Community.”
