Milei’s quirks
Milei, who took office at the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires last December 10, became president in two years thanks to his eccentricityher provocations and to his nonconformism.
Over the years he has become the protagonist of many oddities. Among many: he waved a chainsaw in the air at a public rally, sung on a stage dressed as a superhero, cursed the state on live radio and promised to eliminate the majority of ministries in Argentina.
He partly kept these last promises with his first government actions, in particular with the deregulation measures of the emergency decree presented on December 21st, which immediately sparked a wave of protests throughout the country.
