The prosecutor’s office later ruled out that he had gone to the police station quickly. The rescue helicopter first transported him to Moutiers hospital and from there to Grenoble. An hour and a half after the accident, Schumacher underwent the first emergency operation.
On Sunday evening, while driving, he revealed that he suffered a head injury and got into a coma. His condition was extreme and the next day, December 30, the doctors confirmed that his life was in danger. The helicopter was originally supposed to transport Schumacher to the hospital in Albertville, but during the flight the seven-seater champion stopped breathing.
