The Andrés Estrada Municipal Sports Center will host tomorrow, Thursday, December 14, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the VI Solidarity Tournament ‘A toy for badminton’, an initiative promoted by the IES La Orden Badminton Club in collaboration with the Atlantic Copper Foundation and the Huelva City Hall, which has become a classic of Huelva Christmas.
Participation is open to all ages and to register it is only necessary to contribute with toys that will go to the Children’s City or with a donation to the Patio del Amor Association. It is also not necessary to have prior knowledge about the practice of badminton. The president of the IES La Orden Recreation Center, María Eugenia Lorenzo, has encouraged Huelva families to enjoy a fun day in which there will also be games, entertainment, music, raffles and gifts. “For us it is the tournament of the year, since it brings together the main values that our club promotes: sport, family and solidarity,” Lorenzo emphasizes.
For her part, the Councilor for Youth and Sports of the Huelva City Council, María de la O Rubio, has also called on the citizens of Huelva to once again demonstrate their solidarity with those who need it most. The project manager of the Atlántic Copper Foundation, Ángeles Sánchez, has also highlighted that this initiative has the virtue of bringing together several generations around badminton and at the same time promoting values such as solidarity and healthy living.
