The 8-May 45 hall in Sétif is preparing to host, from January 11 to 13, the 2024 edition of the prestigious National Individual Judo Championship, exclusively dedicated to young junior talents. This promising competition will bring together athletes born in 2004, 2005 and 2006, entered in both categories, men and women. Fourteen weight categories will constitute the heart of the clashes, with seven each for men and women. On the women’s side, the categories include: -48 kg, -52 kg, -57 kg, -63 kg, -70 kg, -78kg and +78 kg. For the men, competitors will compete in the categories: -60kg, -66 kg, -73 kg, -81 kg, -90 kg, -100 kg and +100kg, offering a diversity of styles and strategies. The inaugural day, January 11, will begin with the morning weigh-in, allowing athletes to prepare physically and mentally for the upcoming event.

In the evening, from 8:00 p.m., the draw will become the key moment where destinies will cross, thus sculpting the table of clashes. The official start of the competition will be given the following morning, promising fierce encounters and memorable moments. This exceptional event will highlight the emerging talent of young judokas and will help shape the future of national judo. The Algerian Judo Federation (FAJ) announced that it had mobilized no less than 26 national, continental and international referees to officiate during this national competition, open to both men and women. This National Individual Junior Championship is a continuation of the Senior National Championships of the first and second divisions, which were held from January 5 to 6 at the Harcha-Hacène hall in Algiers, a week earlier.
